દેવો અને દાનવોએ સરળ કરી નાખ્યો
તે પહેલાનો સમુદ્ર મેં જોયો છે.
મેં વડવાનળના પ્રકાશમાં પાણી જોયાં છે.
આગ અને ભીનાશ છુટાં પાડી ન શકાય.
ભીંજાવું અને દાઝવું એ એક જ છે.
સાગરને તળિયેથી જ્યારે હું બહાર આવું
ત્યારે મારા હાથમાં મોતીના મૂઠા ન હોય.
હું મરજીવો નથી.
હું કવિ છું.
જે છે તે છે કેવળ મારી આંખોમાં.

English Translation
Title: Sea
The gods and the devils made it straight
I have seen the sea prior to that
In the light of blaze under the sea, I have seen the waters.
Fire and water can not be isolated.
To be wet and to be burning is alike.
When I come up from the bottom of an ocean
I won't have a fistful of pearls.
I am not any kind of diver.
I am a poet.
Whatever I have got is only in my eyes.
